Bachehaye Maah or Moon Children and teaching story writing to children
Farhad Hasanzadeh is very keen on teaching children.
Hasanzadeh besides writing (especially in Corona period when people had to stay home) set up on line story writing workshops for children and youth. Up to now, he has taught 300 story-writing students and is continuing to do so.
His method of teaching in these workshops are unique. He works with each child according to his or her individual characteristic and creativity. There is no teacher and student hierarchy in his workshops. Children train to become writers along with playing games and learn about social skills, reviews, philosophy and friendship. He has a follow up policy after classes finish and sets up his students in online groups. This group, which is called “Moon Children”, has 100 members. Teen agers in these groups can talk about their favorite subjects, and have discussions about film, story, poetry, and painting. They bring out a monthly virtual publication called “Moon Children” that is done by them from A to Z. This publication is exactly like a professional publication with different sections and all its parts are written and laid out by children themselves.
These creative and energetic children, who are from different parts of Iran, are making a podcast that is partly made and performed by them. Moon Children are also active in promoting book reading and cultural gatherings. In the recent Tehran Book Fair, they had two meetings and became acquainted with each other.
