In September 2021, the 37th International Congress of Children’s and Young adlut’s Literature was hold in Moscow. This program, which was postboned last year due to the pandemi, covered various programs among which were two great news for Farhad Hassanzadeh and his works.
He was honored receiving the diploma of Hans Christian Andersson Award for the second time after 2018 in Greece. He had got into the shortlist among authors like Jacqueline Woodson from USA, Maria Cristina Ramos from Argentina, Bart Moeyaert from Belgium, Marie-Aude Murail from France and Peter Svetina from Slovenia. According to the jury it was Jacqueline Woodson who won the award.
Furthermore, one of Farhad Hassanzadeh’s books, An Ambrella with White Butterflies, got into the IBBY Honour List because of its illustrations.The illustrator, Ghazzaleh Bigdelou received the diploma because of her work on this book. An Ambrella with White Butterflies has been welcomed so warmly in Iran and is translated into three languages i.e. Spanish, Korean and Mandarin.
